The Health Ministry announced on Thursday that authorities are investigating a suspected cyber incident affecting the computer systems of the Bikur Rofeh medical network, Israel’s urgent care provider. Bikur Rofeh’s cybersecurity teams are assessing the potential breach and determining the extent of any data exposure.
While it remains too early to ascertain the full scope of the incident, the Health Ministry confirmed that all relevant authorities are actively preparing for any possible developments. Investigators closely monitor the situation to ensure swift containment and mitigation of any security risks.
According to Hebrew media reports, there is no immediate indication that sensitive information has been compromised. However, cybersecurity teams continue to examine whether any data was leaked due to the incident.
Maariv reported that Bikur Rofeh’s data-sharing agreement with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) remains unaffected. Although the medical network provides urgent care services to soldiers under an agreement with the IDF, it does not have access to classified military data. This distinction minimizes concerns about the potential exposure of sensitive military information.
Bikur Rofeh operates as a nationwide emergency medical service, providing round-the-clock care across 30 locations in Israel. Given its extensive network and critical role in urgent care, authorities prioritize a thorough investigation to ensure the security and integrity of its systems.
