Indigo Sky Casino and Resort, along with Outpost Casino, have disclosed a data security incident, notifying individuals whose personal information may have been accessed during the incident. The casinos detected unusual activity on their computer network, prompting an immediate internal investigation and collaboration with law enforcement.
Upon learning that an unknown third party had acquired some documents from its system on December 1, Indigo Sky took swift action to secure its systems. The potentially compromised documents contained employees’ personal details, including names, driver’s license numbers, Social Security numbers, and medical information. Additionally, some patrons’ names and Social Security and/or driver’s license numbers may have been exposed. Notably, no banking or financial information was included in the breached documents.
Indigo Sky Casino has already initiated the notification process by mailing letters to affected individuals, providing information on the steps they can take to protect themselves. As a precautionary measure, the casino is offering complimentary credit monitoring and identity theft protection services to those affected.
In a news release, Indigo Sky advised affected individuals to remain vigilant against potential fraud and identity theft. They are encouraged to review account statements, monitor credit reports closely, and promptly report any suspicious activity to their financial institution or law enforcement authorities.
For additional information and guidance, individuals can visit ftc.gov/idtheft or contact the Federal Trade Commission at 877-ID-THEFT (877-438-4338). The release also suggests reviewing tips provided by the Federal Trade Commission on fraud alerts, security/credit freezes, and steps to avoid identity theft.
