Fidelity National Financial faces operations disruption post cybersecurity incident

Fidelity National Financial, a major U.S. provider of real estate, mortgage title insurance, and settlement services, encountered operational disruptions after specific systems were shut down due to a cybersecurity incident, as reported by TechCrunch.

The cyberattack led to interruptions in title insurance, escrow services, and mortgage transactions, attributed to unauthorized access to FNF systems using exfiltrated credentials, stated the company in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

While investigations continue to ascertain the full scope of the incident, an individual purportedly connected to the event mentioned that FNF took down its networks, systems, and email as a precautionary measure to safeguard its servers based in Jacksonville.

Another source, purportedly from a company utilizing FNF’s services, reported that the title insurance firm was immobilized after the attack.
