Rich Products Corporation, a Buffalo, New York-based food manufacturer and foodservice supplier, has disclosed a data breach affecting approximately 200 individuals after a cyberattack compromised information held by one of its service providers.
The company recently submitted a breach report to the Maine Attorney General’s Office. The incident originated at First Advantage Corporation, a provider of background screening and identity verification services that works with Rich Products.
First Advantage discovered on Nov. 17, 2025, that an unauthorized party had gained access to the account of a single employee in its Drug & Occupational Health Screening Unit through what the company described as a sophisticated phishing attack. An investigation found that the attacker accessed the account around Nov. 13, 2025, and downloaded the contents of the employee’s email inbox.
In response, First Advantage disabled the affected account and implemented additional security measures intended to strengthen protections across its systems.
Notifications to affected consumers began on April 22, 2026, several months after the compromise was identified.
Rich Products stated in a notification letter that the exposed information included individuals’ names and other personal identifiers. Additional information submitted by First Advantage to the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation indicated that Social Security numbers and driver’s license information were among the compromised data elements.
First Advantage said it is not aware of any fraud or misuse of personal information resulting from the incident.
The company is offering affected individuals two years of complimentary credit monitoring and identity restoration services through Cyberscout, a TransUnion company. It also urged recipients to regularly review account statements and credit reports for unauthorized activity.
Rich Products is one of the largest privately held food companies in the United States. The company operates in more than 100 countries, employs approximately 13,000 people worldwide, and generates about $5.6 billion in annual revenue. Its product portfolio includes frozen foods, bakery products, desserts and foodservice offerings.
