The incident came to light on September 15, 2023. According to an official statement released by CardX on their website, the compromised data includes customers’ first and last names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses.
CardX has reassured its customers that the breach has not compromised their financial data. The incident pertains solely to personal information related to loan and cash card applications, and it has not affected the information systems of Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) or any other entities within the SCB X Group.
In the wake of the data breach, CardX has advised its customers to exercise caution and remain vigilant against potential fraudulent activities. Customers are urged to be wary of unsolicited phone calls, SMS messages, or suspicious emails. While CardX has not detected any misuse of the exposed data, they recommend that customers monitor their account transactions closely to preemptively identify any irregularities.
CardX swiftly initiated actions to enhance its data protection measures in collaboration with cybersecurity experts. Proactive monitoring and stringent auditing processes have been put in place to fortify the security of customer information. Additionally, CardX has implemented system upgrades and additional security protocols to prevent future data breaches.
