Virtual Roundtable:

Reporting and measuring ransomware protection levels to the board
Tuesday 28th September 2021, 09:30 (BST)

As the threat of ransomware attacks generates increasing attention in the boardroom, does awareness around this threat actually change the priorities of a CISO? How are CISOs able to effectively communicate these threats to the board? Faced with managing risks from many different threats, does it ever make sense to increase the focus on one specific threat like ransomware?

We’ve been investigating how to measure the fundamental security controls around ransomware and how CISO’s should communicate with the board around it and have decided… it’s not that straightforward. To mitigate the risk of a successful ransomware attack, CISOs and their teams need strong visibility and measurement of the key controls that span the infiltration, propagation, and exploitation stages of this type of attack. The data required to create this visibility is locked away in disparate information silos for each individual control.

Panaseer will be moderating a peer discussion exploring how to overcome these challenges. During this session, the group will be discussing and collectively answering:

What is the importance of focusing on a specific threat like ransomware?

Should ransomware protection change the priories of a CISO?

What is the best way to report and communicate ransomware risks to the board?

What are the protections and controls an organisation needs to have in place to protect against ransomware?

How do you continuously measure enterprise-wide ransomware protection levels?

How can organisations use their data to improve cyber posture and security measurement overall?

This virtual meeting will discuss what businesses in the financial services industry can do to understand their protection levels against threats like ransomware, and how to effectively communicate those risks to the board.

Who is invited?

We are looking to discuss this important topic with people who are accountable for, or tasked with the responsibility of defending against cyber security threats. The event is designed for senior decision makers including: CISOs, CIOs, and Heads of Security. Delegates will work at large (1000+ employees) organisations in the Financial Services industry.

Be one of 6 senior business decision makers around our virtual table. For any enquiries, please contact Mergim on 0208 349 6458 or email m.begolli@business-reporter.co.uk

The breakfast briefing is brought to you by Panaseer, the leading Continuous Controls Monitoring platform, and is only for senior executives as mentioned above. Registrations of junior professionals, consultants, solution providers or other sellers to this market won’t be accepted. To be eligible you must be employed by a corporate legal entity such as a private company: if you are a sole trader or in a partnership other than a legally incorporated partnership, we will be unable to offer you a place.
