Victoria’s Secret postpones Q1 earnings announcement amid ongoing system recovery

Women’s fashion giant Victoria’s Secret has postponed the announcement of its first quarter fiscal 2025 earnings due to ongoing system restoration efforts following a recent data security incident.

 

Last week, global lingerie, clothing and beauty retailer, Victoria’s Secret said it suffered a data security incident that forced the company to take its official website offline.

 

The company added that its Victoria’s Secret and PINK stores remained fully operational and continued to serve customers despite the incident.

 

While initially VS did not share details of the incident, in a recent press release, the company said that on May 24, it detected a “security incident involving its information technology systems.” 

 

VS immediately launched an investigation, with assistance from external cyber security experts, to determine the nature and scope of the incident. The company also activated its incident response protocols, eradicated unauthorised access, and notified relevant law enforcement authorities about the same.

 

“As a precaution, the Company also temporarily shut down its corporate systems and e-commerce website on May 26, 2025. The website was restored on May 29, 2025 and work is ongoing to restore full access to corporate systems,” VS said in its press release.

 

Furthermore, Victoria’s Secret stated that the incident did not affect its financial results for the first quarter of fiscal 2025. However, the ongoing restoration efforts have limited employee access to certain systems and information necessary to support the release of those results for the quarter ended May 3, 2025.

 

As a result, the company has decided to postpone the previously announced date for its first quarter fiscal 2025 earnings release and will announce a new date soon.

 

“Although this incident has not caused a material disruption to its operations to date, the Company has incurred, and may continue to incur, expenses and other financial impacts related to this incident, which could negatively impact its future financial results, including for the second quarter of fiscal 2025,” the company added.
