ProPark Mobility, specializing in parking management, mobility solutions, and electrification services, filed a notice of data breach with the Attorney General of California on September 3, 2024, after discovering that hackers may have accessed and removed confidential information from the company’s computer network. The breach, which occurred between January 15 and January 18, 2024, raised concerns about the potential exposure of sensitive consumer data.
ProPark’s response to the incident involved blocking unauthorized access and enlisting outside cybersecurity experts to investigate the scope of the breach. The company also reported the incident to law enforcement. After confirming that unauthorized parties accessed certain data, ProPark reviewed the compromised files to identify the impacted individuals. On September 3, the company sent personalized data breach notification letters to those affected.
Although the specific types of data exposed have not been disclosed in the filing, the letters sent to individuals are expected to detail the compromised information. Consumers receiving these notifications are urged to take precautions, as the breach may expose them to identity theft and fraud.
Founded in 1984, ProPark Mobility operates over 1,000 locations across more than 140 U.S. cities and provides services ranging from parking management to shuttle operations. The Hartford, Connecticut-based company employs more than 5,600 people and generates approximately $1.1 billion in annual revenue.
