Park Dental Research Corporation acknowledges cyber attack after Interlock takes credit

Park Dental Research Corporation said a data security breach earlier this year compromised the sensitive personal information of patients and staff.

 

Headquartered in Ardmore, Oklahoma, Park Dental Research Corporation is a dental implant and technology company that specialises in the research, development, and manufacturing of advanced dental implants, 3D printers, clear aligners, and orthodontic software for dental professionals worldwide.

 

In a data security incident notice filed with the Office of Massachusetts Attorney General, Park Dental said that earlier this year, it identified unauthorised access within its internal network. The healthcare service provider immediately launched an investigation, with assistance from external cyber security experts, to determine the nature and scope of the incident.

 

It also took steps to secure the affected systems and notified relevant law enforcement authorities about the same.

 

“Park Dental Research Corporation experienced a data security incident on or about April 29, 2026, that may have affected your personal information,” Park Dental said.

 

The compromised data included names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, home addresses, compensation, bank account information, passport details, I-9, and driver license numbers. The company, however, is yet to share the number of affected individuals. 

 

While Park Dental found no evidence of the compromised information being misused, it advised all affected individuals to regularly monitor their credit reports, account and benefit statements and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement authorities, including the police and the state attorney general.

 

It has also offered two years of complimentary identity protection and credit monitoring services through IDX to all affected individuals.

In May, the Interlock ransomware group claimed responsibility for the cyber attack on Park Dental and listed the healthcare service provider as a victim on its data leak site. The group claimed that it had exfiltrated approximately 260 GB of data, including partner and customer information, financial documents, and login credentials, and threatened to publish the data unless its ransom demands were satisfied.
