Yusen Logistics, the trusted delivery partner for prominent kitchen companies such as BSH, Smeg, Haier, and Howdens, has revealed that its recent delivery delays are a direct result of a cybersecurity incident.
On September 17, Yusen Logistics fell victim to a malicious cyber attack, causing a substantial disruption in its IT infrastructure and creating uncertainty around appliance delivery schedules.
This cybersecurity incident resulted in a widespread IT system outage across the company’s UK network. In response, Yusen Logistics has engaged third-party forensic specialists to aid in the restoration of their systems. Simultaneously, they are conducting a comprehensive analysis and investigation into the nature of the incident.
It’s worth noting that BSH, a key client of Yusen Logistics, was the first to acknowledge the adverse impact on its logistics and invoicing operations. A spokesperson for BSH stated, "One of our logistics partners is currently facing severe IT issues. These issues are ongoing, and we are taking all necessary measures to minimize the impact on our trade partners. While this situation is beyond BSH’s control, we extend our apologies to our customers and express gratitude for their patience. We remain committed to providing updates during this challenging period."
Yusen Logistics emphasized its commitment to maintaining close collaboration with all relevant stakeholders throughout the ongoing investigation, ensuring timely updates as necessary.
