Lennar Mortgage LLC is notifying tens of thousands of customers that their personal information, including Social Security numbers and financial account details, may have been exposed after an unauthorized party gained access to its computer systems earlier this year.
The Miami-based lender, a subsidiary of homebuilder Lennar Corp., said it detected unusual activity affecting a limited part of its information systems on June 1, 2026. Once the issue was identified, the company said it moved to lock down its network and brought in outside digital forensics specialists to determine what had happened.
According to a filing with the Texas attorney general’s office, 60,526 residents of that state were among those affected. The Texas filing states the unauthorized activity spanned roughly a week, from May 26 through June 1, 2026, during which an intruder used social engineering techniques to reach portions of the company’s systems.
A review completed Aug. 4, 2026, determined that the information at risk could include customers’ names, contact details, birth dates, Social Security numbers, passport or other government identification numbers, driver’s license or state ID numbers, financial account information, and medical-related records. Lennar Mortgage posted details of the incident on its website and separately notified California’s attorney general.
To help affected customers protect themselves, the company is offering two years of complimentary identity monitoring through Kroll. Those who wish to enroll have until Nov. 20, 2026, to activate the service. Lennar Mortgage also urged customers to stay alert for signs of fraud. Individuals with questions about the breach or the monitoring offer can reach the company at 844-958-8939, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Eastern time, excluding major U.S. holidays.
