June Cyber Attack Breaches Dealmed Medical Systems, Personal Info Exposed

Dealmed Medical Supplies reported that in June, cyber criminals infiltrated its internal systems, compromising and gaining access to the personal information of individuals associated with the company.

 

Based in Brooklyn, New York, Dealmed Medical Supplies is a leading U.S. distributor of medical supplies and equipment, catering to healthcare professionals and organisations. The company offers an extensive selection of products, ranging from exam room essentials and diagnostic tools to surgical instruments and hospital-grade equipment. 

 

In a data security incident notice filed with the Office of  New Hampshire Attorney General, Dealmed said that on June 7, it identified unusual activity within its internal network. The company immediately launched an investigation, with assistance from external cyber security experts, to determine the nature and scope of the incident.

 

It also took steps to secure the affected systems and notified relevant law enforcement authorities about the same.

 

“As a result of the investigation, we determined that certain files may have been accessed or acquired without authorisation on June 7, 2025. We undertook exhaustive efforts to understand to whom the accessible files related and how to contact those individuals. Our review revealed that the files contain some of your personal information,” Dealmed said.

 

The compromised data included names and other personal identifiers including Social Security numbers. The company has not yet disclosed how many individuals were affected.

 

While the company found no evidence of the compromise data being misused, it has advised all affected individuals to regularly monitor their credit reports, account and benefit statements and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement authorities, including the police and the state attorney general. 

 

It has also offered two years of complimentary identity protection and credit monitoring services through Cyberscout to all affected individuals.

 

At the time of publishing, no known hacker group claimed responsibility for the cyber attack on Dealmed. The medical equipment provider also did not share details on who was behind the attack or whether it had received a ransom demand.
