Disney allegedly hacked by “Nullbulge,” 1.1TB of data compromised

In recent developments, Disney has reportedly become the target of a significant hacking incident, with 1.1 terabytes (TB) of data allegedly stolen by a hacktivist group known as “Nullbulge.” The group claims to have accessed Disney’s internal Slack platform, extracting substantial sensitive information.

While the specific contents of the compromised data remain undisclosed, it is believed to include unreleased projects, concept art, login credentials, and personal information. A screenshot purportedly showing various files from the breach has been circulated, adding some weight to the claims, though the legitimacy of the breach has not been officially confirmed.

Following the announcement of the hack, the “Nullbulge” website became inaccessible, preventing any further dissemination of the alleged data. Disney has yet to issue an official response to inquiries about the breach, leaving many details unclear.

This incident, if confirmed, would add Disney to the list of high-profile companies recently targeted by cyberattacks. In late 2022, Rockstar Games experienced a similar breach, with hackers leaking 90 videos related to the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6 game via Slack. Similarly, in late 2023, Insomniac Games faced a major breach that exposed over 1 million files.

Reports of the Disney breach have sparked widespread discussion on social media, with users speculating about the potential impact on the company’s ongoing and future projects. The breach comes at a time when Disney is heavily invested in several high-profile endeavors, including the upcoming release of a new Deadpool movie and a collaboration with Epic Games on a metaverse project linked to Fortnite.
