Gaming content and technology provider Bragg recently disclosed a data security incident that affected the company’s internal IT systems.
Based in Toronto, Canada, Bragg is a global full-service provider of iGaming content and technology solutions for the international gambling industry. The company offers a Player Account Management (PAM) platform that enables seamless access to online gambling portals, as well as the Fuze Player Engagement platform.
In a data security incident notice, Bragg said that on August 16, the company identified a cyber security incident affecting its internal network. The gambling solutions provider immediately launched an investigation, with assistance from external cyber security experts, to determine the nature and scope of the incident.
The company also took steps to contain the incident, secure the affected network and notified relevant law enforcement authorities about the same.
“Based on preliminary investigations, the Company believes that the data breach was limited to Bragg’s internal computer environment. At the present time, there is no indication that any personal information was affected.
“Additionally, the breach has had no impact on the ability of the Company to continue its operations, nor has it been restricted from accessing any data that has been subject to the breach,” Bragg said.
The company is yet to disclose how the incident happened or who was behind it. Bragg also did not specify the nature of the cyberattack, but since the company retained access to its systems, it seems ransomware was not involved.
“Bragg is committed to data safety, is taking the matter very seriously and asks its customers and partners for their patience as it seeks to remediate the situation.
“The latest information regarding the incident will be made available on bragg.group and updated as further developments occur,” the company added.
