Dr Maria Grazia Vigliotti
Cybersecurity Expert, Author “The Executive Guide to Blockchain”
Dr Maria Vigliotti is a leading expert with vast experience in security, cryptography, blockchains, and training in academic and non-academic environments. She has several years of experience in formal verification of code for concurrent systems in safety and critical applications in the nuclear industry and academia.
Maria has led the development of the Cyber security strategy for the UK railway, and worked on the cryptographic attacks on the European Railway Traffic Management Systems (ERTMS), the new European railway signalling system. She is an experienced web-penetrations testers, and has successful worked with several technical teams across Europe.
Maria has worked with researchers at Imperial College London on research projects on the security audit of smart contracts on blockchain. She had led investigations on the economic and legislative aspects of Initial Coins Offerings with the Centre for Blockchain Technology (CBT) at University College London.
Maria is the CTO of SESO Global, a company that delivers land-registry solutions to enable growth of the property market in the developing world. She is also the adviser at Gradbase, a blockchain start-up that inserts academic and professional qualifications on the blockchain for instant verification. She is the security adviser for Seratio blockchain platform which runs fully compliant Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) in the UK.
Maria is a Chief Editor of the academic journal “Frontiers on Blockchain” (special topic Smart Contract), and she is a member of the United Kingdom All Party Parliamentary Group on Blockchain. She is also a member of the DLT/001 “Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology” working group at the British Standard Institute (BSI) that feeds into the International Standard Organisation (ISO) TC3 307.
Maria holds a PhD in Computing from Imperial College London and she has published over thirty papers in peer-reviewed and refereed international academic journals and conferences.
